Is Planet Coaster 2 worth your time? Planet Coaster sequel review
Planet Coaster is a management and construction game much loved by the English-speaking community for its large number of options to customize an amusement park, now, the sequel has just been released on November 6th and I couldn't miss doing an analysis of it. I have to clarify that I bought the video game and it was not obtained from a key, so this analysis will be as objective as possible, all this to tell you if Planet Coaster 2 is worth it with a review.

By the way, I forgot to mention that when you start the game you have to create a Frontier account, without that you can't play, but you can create it within the game so there's no problem.
Interfaz de inicio de Planet Coaster 2
Although it may not seem like it, this is a very important aspect to judge, since it is our first impression of the game, it is the first thing we see, and I have to say that I really liked the interface of this game (at the beginning), it is not saturated and goes straight to the point. Obviously it is not the best interface in history but it fulfills its function and is superior to that of the first Planet Coaster, although much slower.
This interface consists of 4 sections except for the settings:
Game
My parks
Workshop (online store)
Profile
Avatar Editor
In the profile section, the avatar editor could not be missing. Obviously, it is not very detailed, but we have the characteristic style of Frontier games. In addition, we see this avatar very rarely in the game.

Planet Coaster 2 Career Mode
This game has a career mode, but it's not like FIFA's of course. In this game mode, the game (excuse the redundancy) gives you the opportunity to manage a park already made, I don't like it because it loses the customization that they offer you, but if you are a new player and want to learn the construction mechanics, it can be helpful.
The same thing happens if you have already played the first Planet Coaster, this career mode can help you a lot to learn the new mechanics of the game. For example, I played it to "adapt" to the new systems that they implemented, and if you love this mode, you can complete it.

Planet Coaster 2 Creation Mode
This mode has something special, that something is that it is the franchise mode but with a small difference, you have unlimited money and you don't have to worry about it, it is a full game mode where you have all the attractions of the game without having to investigate. It is a game mode made purely for people who love to decorate, build and experiment. The problem is that it only has 4 biomes.

Planet Coaster 2 Franchise Mode
Now the most important thing, at least in my opinion. Planet Coaster's franchise mode is a marvel, we can create several parks with a single franchise and we will have the option to customize all those parks to our liking, with the proper management obviously. On the right side we are shown the climate of the area and how many resources we will have.

Multiplayer in Planet Coaster 2?
Now, the most important thing for everyone, Planet Coaster 2 has a multiplayer mode, specifically with franchises. When creating our franchise we have the beautiful option of inviting our friends, we can't avoid this, when we create a franchise we have to have a code, but it's up to you whether you invite someone or not, the maximum is 5 people. There is also the other option that anyone can join but you decide whether to reject it or not. The bad thing about multiplayer, but not bad, very bad is that this multiplayer is a lie, since only 1 person can play at a time, this influences the review on whether Planet Coaster 2 is worth it.
Gameplay Planet Coaster 2
The gameplay of this game is exquisite, a work of art, well, I lied, it's nothing like that. There are a lot of new attractions, the pools are customizable, the path system is quite changed, they also changed the demolition system, in short, they added a lot of new things that we didn't have in the first Planet Coaster, but there is a small problem with all these things.

In-game interface
I think it's just me, but it's just that all this customization is too overwhelming, with the keyboard and mouse you get confused, I know this is a console game made to be played with a controller, but please, put some effort into the product on PC, and even if it were only that, with the controller there are also problems, and it's just that it's too overwhelming where you find all the things, from the little I've played I've gotten confused with every single thing I do in the menu because they don't make it that clear, you have to constantly go back to find what you're looking for, it's a very clear downgrade compared to PC1.

Mechanics of connecting light and water
In this game they implemented the Planet Zoo heat map so that we can meet the needs of the visitors, although there is something much more important, the distribution and redistribution of energy and water, we have to connect the light systems to the attractions or facilities so that they can work correctly, on the pool side we have to connect them to a system to filter the water. In short, this makes it more complex but more entertaining because now you have to check the connections.
Tip 💡: you always have to connect the filters or generators to the park entrance
The management section
In this, I was not disappointed, and it is the reason why I bought Planet Coaster 2. Management is too extensive, I would say. It is not like the old game where you only hired employees and they did all the work for a month and then they went to rest. No, all that changed. Now, we have the option to give a schedule to all the workers, and also to decide whether to give them a horrible salary, a decent salary or an overpaid salary.
On the other hand, there is the business management. This is incredible. You can change the price of the tickets to the attractions to one that the game recommends, among them are: bargain, regular and premium. I already said about the employees, but you can also change their salaries. In short, this game is incredibly good in terms of management, much better and more complete than the previous installment.
Graphics
We've all seen the graphics in this game, Frontier doesn't abandon its characteristic style, one that is cartoonish, so to speak, it's a bit heavy because my PC had performance problems at the beginning, but you can reduce its graphic intensity which causes some problems. Also speaking of graphics, they added new animations when the visitors are in the pool and new variants of these, they are not the typical NPCs from the first Planet Coaster, now they have more life.
Planet Coaster 2 Price and Size (Weight)
The game is priced at $22.99, a price that I think is fair, a fairly complete game that introduces content continuously, it is one of those games that you know are made with love (at the moment it doesn't seem like it) and that they will have a great longevity, the bad thing is that some of that extra content will come from paid DLC, but that doesn't mean that it is a very complete park management game, a "multiplayer" management game, don't forget.
Another point is its size, I don't know if I'm the only one who sees the size of the games but the game weighs 17.8 GB on Steam, I say this just in case obviously. To add a lot of extra content it doesn't weigh much more than the first Planet Coaster, it weighs just enough I would say, and any game today, no matter how bad and mediocre it is, weighs 50 GB, so with respect to weight it is more or less fine.

Planet Coaster 2 Review Conclusion
The final point of this review, is Planet Coaster 2 worth it? At the moment, no, I know I've talked a lot of wonders about this game, but the fact that the multiplayer is a farce and the building system is horrible takes away a lot of the desire I had for this game, all this without mentioning that they removed a lot of content that already came with the base version of the first Planet Coaster, only to sell it in a DLC or future ones, that's the direction we're going with this industry, but it's not fair that they sell you a "product" with less content at the same price.
The opinion and reception by the community has been varied, on Metracritic they are mostly positive with some negative points in comments and on Steam the negative reviews almost won, they talk about things that haven't happened to me, but that still affect the image of the videogame. I have no doubt that Frontier will change this situation, that all these problems and lack of content that the community demands will be solved, but currently the conclusion of this review is that Planet Coaster 2 is NOT worth it, keep buying Planet Coaster 1 which had much more content, and is sometimes on sale.
